Last Will and Testament of Joshua Johnson

The Last Will and Testament of Joshua Johnson is located in Will Book A in the Probate Court in the Dooly County Courthouse in Vienna, Georgia.  The handwriting is difficult to read.  Words which could not be deciphered are indicated by [brackets].

Last Will and Testament of Joshua Johnson

Dooly County

I Joshua Johnson, of said county, being of sound and [   ] mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament.

Item 1st.  I give, bequeath, and devise, to my Daughter Marcilla Johnson all of my land Fifty Acres of Lot No. Nine (9) lying in the South west Corner of said lot.  Also Fifty Acres of Lot No. Ten (10) lying in the North west Corner of said lot, all lying in the 1st Dist. of Dooly County, free from all charges or lien holdings whatever.  To her own proper use benefit and behalf.  And also all of my perishable property during her natural life time or until she marries, then, the executor to sell all my said property, divide the proceeds equally among all of my Heirs.  And the Executor to have full control and the management of the property for my Daughter Marcilla Johnson, land and perishable property all alike.

Item 2nd.  I desire all my just debts be paid.

Item 3rd.  I hereby constitute and appoint John A. Lockerman Executor of this my last will and testament this October 18th 1888.
